![]() We had a visit from Herbie and his family today on holiday from London. We have a couple of Mensa wooden puzzles which adults struggle to do. Well Herbie was determined to work it out and with just a little help from Gill he did it. The picture shows the end result. Well done Herbie!

We welcomed the Tuesday walking group from Saltburn U3A for light snacks, coffee and cake. They had walked a circular 8 miles from Lealholm and were ready for refreshments. Hopefully we will see you all again soon.
George from Liverpool came to our rescue in the morning when we had a swallow fly through the doors and into the Tea Room. He managed to gather the bird up in a cloth and release it outside. Thank you. ![]() Here are the Busby family from Border Berries in Kelso on holiday from Scotland enjoying the Tea Garden at Shepherds Hall. They own a P.Y.O fruit farm and cafe, baking all their own cakes and scones and Mrs Busby said it was lovely to visit another wonderful cafe that takes the same care in good, fresh food. Well we are all set for the Diamond Jubilee Bank holiday weekend cake and food wise, we just need the customers now. This morning is so different from last weekend which was a scorcher. We fully opened the Tea Gardens last weekend and they were full all day. This morning the weather is slightly drizzling and cool, hopefully it will improve. The village is decked out in bunting including us which we did this morning. We've blown some red, white and blue balloons up and hung them around the Tea Room.
